I mean I agree with the general sentiment, am no fan of Hegseth, this administration or this war, but it would be dishonest not to point out the order of magnitude difference here.

However bad you think US economic problems are, at least you don’t have a literal acute water crisis. Like literally there is not enough water in Iran for the population, to the extent that they are rationing it.

I use this example because this is the one thing that absolutely cannot be blamed on US sanctions or military campaigns, or even natural resource challenges. They have a water crisis because the Iranian regime has a nearly 50 years history of corruption, crony capitalism and general environmental mismanagement of the fresh water supplies they had, at the hands of water companies owned by the IRGC. This predated the war, predated any recent sanctions, and anything else.

And America…..doesn’t….? I mean, Republicans always tell us that there isn’t money for any programs or anything, but then they can find $200 billion for war?? Come on…,

    4. He’s not wrong, though. I mean, has Iran sent out $2000 checks to their people? Has Iran reduced the cost of groceries? Has Iran ended a war on day one? Does Iran provide the best health care in the world if you can afford it? Does their leader even sell crypto, or bibles?

They either lack self awareness, or it’s a conscious strategy of next level projection. I don’t know which it is. Probably both.

    6. His friends are all rich and they are the ones the government helps. The rest of us don’t count.

“…and the problem I have with that is those should be American missiles and weapons! So after we spend another additional 200 billion *so far* we will rebuild some of the oil refineries and sell them our weapons…” Pete Hegseth continues
